Cuttlebone casted rings

Cuddlebone casting is an ancient technique used in metal jewelry. It’s pretty easy in terms of mold making and casting methods; I had fun working off of the squid like creature’s natural bone structure that mimics wood-grain. These images are not a representation of the upcoming Fathom & Form line… just a weekend exploration

Just finished up a table i have been working on. This table examines the possibilities of creating spaces through the intersection of contrasting forms. The study also focuses on the spatial contrast of interior and exterior. The table also plays off the idea of the element of surprise by creating a subtle exterior shell that encloses a complex interior.

Chris has no limits to his ambition and has taken on learning how to code our own site. The thing I’m most excited about with Fathom & Form is that it’s so much more than just making jewelry. We get to explore design- from designing our studio space, business cards, logo, font, branding and image, web design, collage, photography, packaging, and so much more. It’s endless
Right now I’m working on collages for the opening page for our coming soon site. Here’s one I did last week

The Beginning

8 months prior

So it begins,

After finishing my semester studying architecture at CCA, I once again have freedom. No more sleepless nights, no more stress induced headaches, no more carpel tunnel, and a life atlas… So I thought…. It was a little bit after mothers day and after expirementing with some 3d prints I decided to test some new waters and become a jewelry designer for a day to design something for mi mama. After getting some advice from my friend, past lover, arch enemy or what have you, I realized a team had been formed.  Here we are 8 months later doing nothing different, just making jewelry. Fathom & Form has begun. Carleigh and I have had a rocky history and lets just say nothing had changed when we started this company. We have an amazing ability to have the exact same taste and at the same time we disagree with everything. But there’s one thing I will say, when we do agree on something we have something special. We fill our weaknesses and we enhance our strengths and there is nobody out there I would rather work with… O and I may contradict that statement in future posts.
